To edit my film, I used Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2019, an updated version of the Premiere I used in my foundation production. This new version made it a little bit easy for me to edit.

I used a multitude of techniques:

  • I used crossfades, fade in, fade out, dip to black and dip to white as transitions to link content or frames

  • Fade from black at the start, and use opacity fades to enter the title

  • Keyframes to regulate audio and modify the volume. Lower music when subject speaking

  • I inserted subtitles with the text tool and cut through frames

  • Sound bridges connect two sounds at the same time and eliminate thinking sounds (ehm, eeee, soooo, etc) this helped me create fluency in the sound.

  • I used nest work to unify to clips to smooth out a cut

  • Additive dissolve as a transition and consecutive cuts

  • Detailed zoom out and in at the end to see the interviewee's reaction

  • Digital Panning is a complementary technique to create a more dynamic still shot by giving it movement. this causes a more emphatic documentary asn used when needed.
